THE QUALITY CONTROL BUILDING SURVEYORS PARTY WALL ACT AGREEMENT
  1. You are intending to carryout building work. The Party Wall etc. Act 1996 covers all properties within England and Wales and governs 3 particular types of construction work under Section One: Building on or up to a boundary shared with another property. Section Two: Work on an existing wall, floor or ceiling structure shared with another property and Section Six: Excavating: within 6 meters of neighbouring building or structure.
  2. Party Wall Surveying procedures commence upon the service of a Party Wall Notice.
  3. The Party Wall Surveying procedures are a legal requirement for a building owner to adhere to in advance of their proposed works commencing. In the event that Party Wall Surveying procedures are overlooked, there is a significant risk of the adjoining owner obtaining a Party Wall injunction. This would ultimately result in the works having to be delayed until the correct Party Wall Surveying procedures are followed, while also resulting in very high legal cost.
  4. We always advise building owners to speak to their neighbours before serving a formal notice. Neighbours that feel they are being consulted and kept informed are far less likely to immediately appoint a surveyor when a notice is served.
  5. At QCBS we ensure you that you can reach out to our team and we will do our upmost to assist with any queries, guidance and support regarding your new build home.

The KEEP CASH CAMPAIGN

We are offering saving off our service fees, if you pay in cash!

We have joined the national ‘The Keep Cash’ campaign. Since the pandemic, businesses accepting cash has dwindled and cash points continue to close, which is affecting the most vulnerable in society. So, as part of the incentive to keep people using cash, we are offering our customers a saving on our fees when they pay in cash. Also, feel free to sign the petition here.

Payment will need to be made on the day of your snagging inspection and a snagging report will be issued within 48 hours.
